Meet Your Certified Hand Therapist

I’m Zach, a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with a passion for merging medical expertise and advanced design. I earned my OT degree from Columbia University in 2017 and my CHT in 2020. Today I combine clinical experience with 3D scanning, CAD modeling, and 3D printing to craft custom splints that fit beautifully and feel incredible.

My name is Zach, and I am passionate about blending clinical expertise with innovative design. I graduated from Columbia University’s Occupational Therapy program in 2017 and have dedicated my career exclusively to hand therapy. In 2020, I earned my Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential, a distinction that requires over 4,000 hours of direct practice and passing a rigorous national examination.

Over time, my clinical experience inspired a fascination with computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing—technologies that are transforming the orthotics and prosthetics field. While 3D printing has existed since the 1980s, its application in custom splint fabrication remains an emerging specialty. When I began exploring this field, I found only a small global community with the skills to merge clinical knowledge with advanced digital fabrication techniques.

Through specialized training, international collaboration, and extensive self-directed learning, I mastered the process of creating fully customized splints—from 3D scanning a patient’s hand to designing the device digitally, programming the printer, and refining the final product. Outside of the clinic, I have spent hundreds of hours prototyping, experimenting with materials, and developing methods to achieve both exceptional function and aesthetics.

A 3D-printed splint may appear simple, but it represents the intersection of two complex disciplines: hand therapy and industrial engineering. Each device I produce is not only a precise medical tool but also a carefully crafted piece of functional art.

In a market saturated with off-the-shelf options that often fail to fit properly or serve their intended purpose, my approach is different. When you choose one of my custom splints, you can be confident it is designed specifically for your needs, backed by years of clinical expertise and cutting-edge fabrication skills. Your hands deserve the highest level of care—because they have worked hard for you your entire life.
